ACHM Hotels by Marriott opens Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia, a new Art Deco-inspired hospitality icon overlooking City Hall Square and offering first-class dining.
ACHM Hotels by Marriott, the leading hotel management company in Southern Europe, chaired by Antonio Catalán, presents a new hotel in Valencia: Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia. Located in the very heart of Valencia, between the iconic post office building and City Hall, this exclusive hotel is a destination in itself—combining history, elegance, and modernity to offer a unique experience for those seeking to immerse themselves in the Valencian spirit.
This is one of the most significant openings for ACHM Hotels by Marriott. As Antonio Catalán explains:
“Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia is an example of how we at ACHM approach hospitality: respectful of history, committed to excellence, and open to the future. In a city like Valencia, and with such a privileged location as the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, this hotel is born to become a new icon—a place that honors its legacy while looking toward the future with a unique and sophisticated proposition, housed in one of the most emblematic buildings in the city. We are proud to open the doors of this new landmark in the heart of Valencia.”
Valencian businessman Francisco Martínez, with an established career in the food industry and owner of the hotel, emphasizes:
“This building is part of Valencia’s memory. Restoring it and transforming it into a hotel with soul has been a thrilling challenge. With Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia, we want every stay to be a unique experience and for guests to feel the city’s history and character from the very first moment.”
The hotel’s name, “Centenari”, pays tribute to the centennial of the building’s original project in 1925. With this name, ACHM Hotels by Marriott not only celebrates the building’s history but also its new life as a hotel poised to shape the future of hospitality in Valencia.
Its location is truly exceptional: in Valencia’s historic center, offering panoramic views of the majestic Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and overlooking two of the city’s most iconic landmarks—the City Hall and the historic Post Office façade. Whether guests seek out Valencia’s major cultural institutions or prefer to explore its vibrant local life, Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia promises to be a destination for the contemporary traveler.
Inspired by the 1920s, the hotel has 53 rooms and captures the spirit of progress and exuberance of that era, blending surprising elements with the timeless elegance of Art Deco. It is the perfect place for those seeking a deep connection with local culture, beauty, and history—transforming each day into a special occasion.
This homage to architecture, design, and history has been a labor of love for Francisco Martínez.
The ERRE architecture studio carried out the comprehensive restoration of the Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia, preserving and enhancing the character of the original 1925 building, which was inspired by the Chicago School. The sophisticated Art Deco style defines the interior design, featuring carefully chosen noble materials, custom furniture, and an atmosphere imbued with Mediterranean warmth. Sustainability is a key design principle, with the project strategically conceived to meet BREEAM certification for sustainable construction.
From ERRE, architects José Martí, Amparo Roig, and M. Ángeles Ros state: “We approached this project with the responsibility of working on a heritage building in the heart of Valencia. Our commitment was to strike a balance between what the building was and what it should become: honoring its history while adapting it to the standards of a five-star hotel offering an exclusive experience.”
Historically, the building—designed by Santiago Esteban de la Mora and Ignacio de Cárdenas Pastor—was a symbol of modernity in its era, and its legacy lives on in every corner of the Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia. Though the building has been updated over time, its original essence has been preserved. Today, this architectural gem has been carefully restored to offer guests an experience that blends the best of the past with the comforts of the present.
The hotel amazes visitors with its lobby’s geometric forms and the most distinctive Art Deco details, complemented by local elements that pay tribute to Valencian heritage. Not to be missed is the elegant central bar, complete with grand piano, which invites guests to enjoy handcrafted cocktails while experiencing live music.

It’s the ideal spot to enjoy fine dining, entertainment, and culture.
Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia becomes a new cultural and leisure hub. At Soul of 1927, an all-day dining space on the hotel’s ground floor, inspired by French bistros and the gastronomic culture of cities like New York and Chicago, guests can enjoy à la carte breakfasts, fresh oysters, and signature cocktails—accompanied by live music that transports them to a golden age of elegance and escape. The rooftop is a perfect place to relax and enjoy panoramic views of Valencia’s skyline, with authentic cocktails and appetizers.
For those who want to explore all the city has to offer, the hotel features a calendar of activities to enrich each visit, thanks to partnerships with institutions and galleries such as the Valencian Institute of Modern Art and the Hortensia Herrero Art Center.
With this opening, GRAND HOTEL CENTENARI VALENCIA not only redefines hospitality in the city but also positions itself as a benchmark of style, luxury, and authenticity, under the stewardship of ACHM Hotels by Marriott.
