Following the renovation of AC Hotel Cartagena, guestrooms, common areas and the restaurant were transformed to enhance the guest experience.
AC Hotel Cartagena carried out a comprehensive renovation of its facilities with the aim of enhancing the guest experience and adapting the hotel to new ways of traveling, working and enjoying the city. This transformation updated several areas of the property through a more functional, contemporary concept aligned with the needs of today’s traveler.
The project was part of the continuous improvement strategy developed by ACHM Hotels by Marriott, focused on strengthening design, comfort and functionality across its urban hotels while maintaining the brand’s identity and guest-centered approach.
Guestrooms: a more comfortable and functional experience
The renovation of the guestrooms optimized the layout to provide a more comfortable and balanced stay. The redesign incorporated higher-quality materials, new mattresses and warmer indirect lighting, all contributing to a more welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
In addition, the bathrooms were fully renovated to improve both accessibility and functionality. Replacing bathtubs with modern showers provided a more practical solution tailored to the needs of today’s guest.

Common areas: spaces designed to enjoy the hotel experience
The common areas evolved into a more open and versatile concept designed to extend the guest experience beyond the room itself. The lobby became a living space where guests can relax, work or enjoy a calm and carefully designed environment.
As part of this transformation, the hotel introduced a small library and a business corner equipped with a computer and printer. As a result, the common areas now better respond to the needs of contemporary travelers by combining comfort and productivity in the same setting.

AC Hotel Cartagena
Restaurant: a more social concept connected to the city
The restaurant adopted a more social and dynamic concept centered around a main bar that reorganized the space and improved the flow of service. This new layout reinforced the restaurant’s role as a meeting point within the hotel.
The interior design, together with carefully planned lighting and a more intimate atmosphere, created a versatile space for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and events. In addition, its direct connection to the outdoor terrace located in Cartagena’s historic center strengthened the hotel’s relationship with the city and expanded the guest experience beyond the building itself.

Fitness and wellness during the stay
The renovation also included the addition of a fitness center equipped with state-of-the-art technology and available free of charge to guests.
This space reinforced the hotel’s commitment to wellness and responded to the growing demand for services that support healthy habits while traveling.

Meeting and event spaces
The meeting and event areas were fully renovated to provide a more comfortable, modern and efficient environment. The upgrade improved both the available technology and the overall comfort of the rooms, offering greater flexibility for different meeting and professional event formats.
With this renovation, the hotel strengthened its offering for the corporate segment while maintaining a balance between functionality, design and experience.
