AC Hotel Atocha has completed a comprehensive refurbishment, with the terrace, AC Lounge, gym and new meeting rooms taking centre stage.
AC Hotel Atocha is entering a new chapter. The hotel, part of the ACHM Hotels by Marriott portfolio, the leading hotel management company in Southern Europe, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment that updates both its design and service offering. This reinforces its position as one of the leading hotels near Atocha Station, one of Spain’s main transport hubs, and the Paseo del Arte, a strategic location for business travellers, event attendees and those visiting Madrid for leisure.
The refurbishment goes beyond a purely aesthetic update. The project optimises all areas of the hotel to provide a more functional, comfortable and contemporary experience, aligned with the needs of today’s traveller and the urban character of AC Hotels by Marriott.

The project introduces a new aesthetic language based on a warm and contemporary design. Light wood, new textures, renewed upholstery and updated furnishings provide greater comfort and visual coherence throughout both the guestrooms and the hotel’s shared spaces. The refurbishment encompasses guestrooms, corridors, courtyards, terrace, common areas, gym and meeting spaces, with the aim of delivering a more comfortable, up-to-date experience tailored to the needs of the urban traveller.
“With the refurbishment of AC Hotel Atocha, we are taking another step forward in updating a key property for urban travellers in Madrid. We wanted to enhance its comfort, functionality and social character, incorporating improvements in design, technology, meeting spaces and common areas to respond to the needs of business, event and leisure guests,” says Rosana Sanchidrián, General Manager.

Social spaces take centre stage
The outdoor terrace becomes one of the key highlights of this new chapter for AC Hotel Atocha. The refurbishment improves its connection with the interior of the hotel and introduces new pergolas, allowing it to be enjoyed practically all year round and strengthening its role as a meeting point for guests and visitors.
This update is complemented by the refurbishment of the AC Lounge, which now features a more modern and fully equipped bar. The space further enhances its role as a meeting point within the hotel, designed for informal dinners, after-work drinks or leisure moments before or after enjoying the terrace. It also provides a place to unwind for any traveller, whether staying at the hotel or not, who needs somewhere to eat or work with Wi-Fi before embarking on their train journey, thanks to its proximity to the station.
The hotel has also refurbished its gym, now equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym machines, allowing guests to maintain their usual routines or classes during their stay.

Technology at the service of the guest
The guest experience has also been enhanced through technology. All guestrooms now feature new 55-inch televisions with access to personal streaming platforms, allowing each guest to log in using their own credentials and enjoy an enhanced range of entertainment and hotel services. Other details include new bathroom mirrors with integrated magnifying mirrors and indirect LED lighting beneath the furniture. These features reflect the refurbishment’s aim of enhancing the guest experience through solutions that provide greater comfort, functionality and connectivity.
The refurbishment also strengthens the hotel’s offering for meetings and events. AC Hotel Atocha now features two new boardroom-style meeting rooms, with natural light and capacity for up to 12 people, complementing the two existing rooms, which can accommodate up to 20 and 120 people respectively.
AC Hotel Atocha enters a new chapter defined by the modernisation of its spaces, an enhanced guest experience and a stronger offering for the urban, corporate and events segments in Madrid.
