AC Hotel Gran Canaria reopens its doors after six months of work to update and improve its facilities, with updated spaces and greater prominence given to the Atlantic.
AC Hotel Gran Canaria announces the reopening of its doors on October 1, following six months of work focused on the updating and improvement of its facilities. Located in one of the most recognisable buildings on the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria skyline, the hotel forms part of the city’s landscape and its relationship with the Atlantic. Managed by ACHM Hotels by Marriott, a leading management company in Southern Europe chaired by Antonio Catalán, the property thus begins a new chapter, updating its offering while maintaining the urban, contemporary and functional essence that defines AC Hotels.
Over these months, the hotel has worked across different areas to update its spaces, improve comfort and adapt its facilities to the needs of today’s traveller, without losing the personality that characterises the property. The result can be seen both in small interior design and decoration details and in more prominent spaces, creating a more contemporary and carefully considered experience for enjoying a stay on the island.
In the words of Judith Guanich, General Manager of AC Gran Canaria: “This reopening marks the beginning of a new chapter for AC Hotel Gran Canaria, in which we have focused on improving our guests’ experience and giving even greater prominence to one of the hotel’s great attractions: its connection with the Atlantic. We have updated our spaces to make them more comfortable, contemporary and versatile, while maintaining the essence of AC Hotels and that distinctive approach to hospitality, where design and functionality naturally coexist.”

An update to the hotel’s spaces
The update is noticeable from the moment guests arrive. On the ground floor, the renovation of materials, furniture and lighting brings greater brightness and a more contemporary look to the common areas, while the reception now features a lighter-toned wood finish.
On the upper floors, design continues to take centre stage with updates to different spaces. Floors 23 and 24 feature renewed decorative elements, lighting and flooring, while the meeting room on the 24th floor has been adapted and updated. The hotel now has a total of six meeting rooms, configured to respond to different ways of working and meeting. The gym has also been relocated to the second floor, as part of the reorganisation of the hotel’s spaces.
The Atlantic, now also from the pool
If there is one space that captures this new chapter, it is the pool and terrace area. A place designed to extend the stay, enjoy the good weather and make the views part of the experience.
The pool area has been renovated and adapted, incorporating an area with massage jets, a larger area for guests to stay and a bar. The furniture, lighting and finishes complete an outdoor space that takes on greater prominence and invites guests both to unwind during the day and enjoy the atmosphere as the afternoon draws to a close.

More comfort and a more contemporary experience
The new chapter also extends to the guest rooms, conceived as spaces where comfort and simplicity set the tone for the stay.
The work carried out includes updates to lighting, countertops and occasional furniture, armchairs and curtains, together with renewed colours on walls and ceilings. In the bathrooms, the rooms that have been updated now feature, among other improvements, shower trays.
Under the management of ACHM Hotels by Marriott, the property combines design, functionality and a privileged location overlooking the Atlantic to create a meeting point for those visiting the island, those working from it and those simply looking for a place to pause, look out to sea and enjoy the moment.
