35 ACHM Hotels by Marriott properties take part in the Aceite Solidario initiative, which converts used cooking oil into biodiesel to fund therapy for young people with intellectual disabilities. A project that combines environmental sustainability with positive social impact.
At ACHM Hotels by Marriott, we reaffirm our commitment to a hospitality model that generates a positive impact on both society and the environment.
We have established a partnership with Aceite Solidario to give a second life to used cooking oil from 35 of our hotels—28 under the AC Hotels by Marriott brand and 7 under Autograph Collection—located across Spain.
Thanks to this collaboration, used oil—highly polluting waste, as just one liter can contaminate more than 1,000 liters of water—is transformed into biodiesel, a fuel capable of reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 80%.
A project combining sustainability and social commitment
The economic benefit generated from the sale of this biodiesel is fully allocated to funding speech therapy and therapeutic pedagogy sessions for young people with intellectual disabilities at the Aprende Sin Barreras academy.
With this initiative, we not only prevent water pollution and reduce our carbon footprint, but also directly contribute to the development and inclusion of those who need it most.

Impact of Aceite Solidario
Currently, Aceite Solidario collaborates with more than 140 companies in Spain, has recycled over 810,000 kilos of used oil, and has allocated more than €240,000 to social projects.
